The London Pocket Bible

I’m currently reading The London Pocket Bible (Everything you need to know about the capital city) by Teresa Paddington.

It was a Christmas present from my sister.  It’s nice and easy to read filled with little snippets of London history.  I’ve always loved London, it has something for everyone and this book gives you bits of information on all the places you would expect and some you might not be so familiar with!

Did you know Gog and Magog are mythical giants and were said to be the founders and guardians of the City of London?  They are carried as part of the Lord Mayor’s Show.

There is something nice about knowing London has mythical giant guardians! It appeals to my childhood imagination that was filled with stories of fairies, goblins, dragons and giants!
