Tuesday Cinema Club: The Worlds End

This week we went for a bit of comedy and had been looking forward to seeing The Worlds End since we first saw a trailer for it a few months back.

If you enjoy Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead then you will like this movie.  The theatre was packed full of people who all seemed to enjoy themselves as much as we did.

The only thing that bugged me about the movie was Simon Pegg’s dyed hair, I’m not sure why he needed to have black hair but it didn’t look right.  I guess they couldn’t find someone with his hair colour to be his younger self!

It was filmed in the home counties from what I read and apart from High Wycombe I didn’t recognise any of the other towns.  I imagine the keen-eyed pub goer would probably be able to tell you where all the pubs were located!

The cinema has been increasingly busy over the last few weeks with big queues to get drinks but this week we even had to queue to collect our tickets.  I guess this is a good sign that there are some great movies out there at the moment as people are willing to give up sitting in the sun to sit in the dark.  The air conditioning might have something to do with it too!

I’d give it a 4/5!
