Tuesday Cinema Club: Joy

I wasn’t sure what this movie was about before I went to see it. I’d heard talk that it was good, I knew that Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were in it, I’ve found them to be good together in other movies so I gave it a go.

It turns out Joy Mangano, the lead character is an inventor, played by Jennifer Lawrence. It seems we have a lot to thank Joy for as we use some of the products she invented in our everyday life.

The movie was interesting; to see how a woman with very little money succeeded where everyone expected her to fail. Even her own family ended up acting against her best interests, but she turned the fear of being made bankrupt into a money-making performance on the home shopping network. From there the rest is history as they say.

I would recommend watching the movie if you are interested in self-made success stories or if you need a little inspiration to get your own ideas flowing.
